starting a new oil cart is one of the best feelings. Those first few hits are always the most flavorful and hit me haaard.

In other news I've started branching out to different dispensaries to play the field (and get those first time discounts, you feel me). First place I went was kinda meh. It was a nice facility, brand new and only 20 min from me so its convenient. My issues are with the actual flower quality. Bought a fairly dry pre-roll that wasn't packed tight enough, so it leads me to believe they use old shake to fill those. The flower I bought also felt less dense, was a bit lower in TAC than what I'm used to, and definitely doesn't have a strong terp profile like what I've been smoking.

 

pre-rolls are nearly always going to be suspect in terms of what they put in it - the dispensary i work for says they use "full flower" aka no trim or anything, but idk. they do a deal where you can get a pre-roll for $1 if you buy an eighth and i always end up breaking the pre-roll apart, packing a bowl and putting good bud on top of it haha

 

also i posted over on vaporents with a guideline of no more than $250 for a vape and nothing that involves a torch and the only reply i got was for ....a vape that needs a torch and $350 Mighty lol

 

You can probably get a new pax2 or used pax 3 for that price.

I have a 2, but also bought the pax pusher and screen accessories from New Vape to improve the experience. 2 years in it's the best piece I've ever bought.

 

i have read that the pax isn't as efficient as other models for the price, but it looks so damn easy to use and that is what i need. a dry herb vape for dummies.

 

It's for dummies. I keep mine set on "3 out of 4", though the Pax 3 has more control. It gets the job done, it's sexy, discreet, well designed, fairly priced.

 

excellent, lol. i was looking at all the dynavap vapes and when i saw that you need a torch for those, just laughed. heating a metal cap with a giant butane lighter? i will burn the fuck out of myself with that repeatedly, regardless of how long i own it, haha

 

I feel like maintaining my Pax 2 was a bit of a nightmare and I got really inconsistent results from it. It's been sitting in a drawer for over a year now, but hopefully the 3 is a big improvement!

Had to clean it out every 2-3 uses to get decent hits, the mouthpiece would get sticky fairly quickly, and sometimes it just wouldn't hit unless I packed it as tight as possible. Replacing and cleaning the screen was kind of annoying too, and had to carry a paper clip with me everywhere to stir the bud every 3 hits or so. Kind of takes away the convenience of a portable vape.

 

tbh the Mighty is a really slick vape but I'm not paying $350 for it, wouldn't even put unemployment monies toward that ha

 

I clean my pax after every oven. Which usually lasts me a day, starting on the lowest heat and working up throughout the day. Just need some Isopropyl alcohol and pipe cleaners.

 

you have to pack it tight, correct? how much would you say fits in a full oven?

 

Dang, I've never had an oven last longer than one session for me. Starting at low, and making its way up as it stops giving me hits. I've often packed 2-3 ovens back-to-back.

It's been awhile since I've used it and I was strictly a bong smoker at the time. Now that all I do is vape, I wonder if I've picked up some good habits that will make the Pax work better for me.

 

I'd say maybe .4 to .5g to an oven? Again, just talking the Pax 2 for me.

 

A full oven is a heavy session, better for 2-3 people. I use the Pax pusher on my 2 to allow me even heating / good vapor density while only packing the amount that I want

Yeah the place I've normally gone to is the same way. They're always basically giving away pre-rolls for mad cheap, but I think they move inventory fast enough so they don't dry up. They're also fairly popular as well compared to the new place I went. This was noticabley lower quality in terms of taste and had a way harsher hit.

i need more friends who smoke. currently sitting on two 65mg thc gummies, a 2g pre-roll with lemon haze, and some oil, but i don't feel like getting stoned by myself (that actually isn't true, i'm already stoned, but could use the company).

 

I finished finals today so naturally the whole town is dry. great. friend came in clutch though with the blunt. spirited away and Totoro too
