Is this all choreographed or improvisational cause they don't actually know what the music is going to be?

 

I think they practice and plan out specific moves or sequences they're going to do, but where and how in their set they implement those is improvised from song to song.

 

yeah obviously they've worked on all these moves before and have a general plan of what they want to do. I'm just curious if they know what the songs are gonna be ahead of time or if its a all a surprise that they gotta react to

Yeah Breaking is fun to watch but this just wayyyyy too subjective. I am disagreeing with 80% of the scores from the judges.

The subjectiveness is interesting because most of the other “subjective” sports like Gymnastics, Figure Skating, and even the Artistic Swimming have implemented more detailed scoring that makes them less subjective and more based on the technical aspects.

 

I'm not sure what the need is for mens and womens categories in breaking

 

Also a lot people are complaining that these beats are bad lol

 

yeah even skateboarding has a detailed scoring system (though not sure its as precise as something like gymnastics)

I get that like, breakdancing isn't supposed to be objective. but that is at odds with the olympics so...

 

Like the commentators even are getting surprised by some of these judge's calls because who they thought won didn't .
