American mens hurdler, who intentionally went into the repechage round in order to get an extra day to recover, has just qualified for the 110m final. He could be the first hurdler (or any track event maybe?) to ever run in the repechage round and end up winning a medal.

wow China dominated the artistic swimming. US gets second. But 82 points between 1st and 2nd. Meanwhile gap between 2nd and 8th was only 68 points

 

Still silver for US after not medaliing for years and barely qualifying this year is hell of an accomplishment.

It is like table tennis, weightlifting, diving, ect. China dominates so hard in those that getting silver honestly is a win.

US men's water polo won their QF match and made it to the semis.

I honestly thought they were already eliminated

 

Actually this one Russia dominates this event. US won the first team event back in 1996. Russia had won every Olympics since. But I gotta imagine with how dominate China was they could've challenged Russia this year. And even getting bronze with Russia in it would've still been super impressive for the US
