Besides Gymnastics and Swimming tomorrow, Lee Kiefer and Lauren Scruggs going for their 2nd medals of the games leading the US women foil team is going to be one of my highlights.

Also Racewalking is a really funny looking sport, so that'll be a fun watch.

 

Watching Katie Ledecky's medal ceremony: I would be so nervous and forget every word to that song, props to her or any athlete that makes some effort to mouth or sing at all.

 

i knew a girl who was a competitive racewalker in high school and college. it was honestly insane to see how fast they could get lol

Surfing cancelled again. I am hearing some say it might not be done until next week possibly. Holding surfing in Tahiti is turning into kind of a disaster.

 

This issue happens at every wave; essentially the swell isn’t good enough, meaning it’s not producing enough rideable waves to hold a competition in. Each round of the World Surf League has like a 2-week window to complete the event; they might have a few rounds on the first day, and then have to wait a full week to have the next round, all because of shitty wave conditions. So not really the fault of Tahiti specifically. Surf comps are always a gamble, no matter how well you try to predict conditions

Race Walking is so interesting. Even the commentator is like “this is not a joke, these are world class athletes” which is of course true but it just LOOKS funny when you watch it

 

No disrespect to the other girls..but Keifer is very clearly carrying this US Foil team on her back right now holy shit. We were getting destroyed by Canada, then she came out and in just under 3 minutes we are ahead lol
