I don't think Atlanta takes a WR. Dallas Turner is currently the 2nd most popular predicted pick in the draft

would’ve been stoked for a second round talent at WR if we still had both Ridley and Kirk

Gotta pick your poison. Either overpay Ridley a little bit or continue to stunt your QBs development

good weapons requires a big investment somewhere. Since we didn’t do free agency, it’s gotta be a trade or a high draft pick for me.

 

It's entirely possible to get a very good WR in the 2nd round. Happens almost literally every year.

Fair point on two accounts but AJ Brown falling was just dumb, yeah sure I’ll take a better WR prospect than Rome Odunze at pick 50 or whatever

My take is that this WR class is not just deep but it’s very elite at the top. If we want a weapon Trevor can trust for the next 5-10 years this is the draft to be aggressive and go get one. Most other years, yeah the gap between round 2 and round 1 might not be as wide. But most drafts don’t have a Nabers OR an MHJ (and a couple other EASY upper-first round talents getting pushed down the board into striking range)

 

Oh hey to Randall’s point, Julio was drafted in Matt Ryan’s 4th season

 

Roddy White was extremely good early on too, you’re too young to remember son

 

I agree our top priority should be trading up for one of the big three. It's just also not the end of the world if we don't do that
