I couldn’t even fathom trading a day two pick for Sutton, let alone a first

 

I put Amarius Mims twice in my draft prediction. Back to the drawing board...

 

This is a perfect example of the draft being a mix of luck and skill. And I seriously question how much of it is actually skill lol the Chiefs get credit for seeing potential in Mahomes and moving up for him. But they also saw potential in Paxton Lynch and would’ve moved up for him if they could. The following draft they’re maybe a little more desperate so make a bigger jump and get their QB.

And it’s funny that Elway gets raked over the coals for that pick (he should) but he isn’t much dumber than the others. Because Chiefs wanted the same guy. And we call them geniuses.

I’d love to hear more stories like the one above. Team X likes this player a lot, but team Y jumped ahead to take him, player ends up stinky, team X ends up with a better player despite feeling like they settled and gets labeled as smart.
