Oh I’m not comparing Julio to Aiyuk, I’m saying Shanahan offenses with a 1300+ yard receiver on it at all are far and few between

 

The fact Aiyuk stood out enough to outperform Deebo in an offense that previously was criticized for under-utilizing Deebo is notable to me. Everyone knows Deebo is good so it is curious that Shanahan liked Aiyuk even more and used him even more this year. Part of it is probably also Brock Purdy’s development and year 2 Purdy being way better than Jimmy fuckin G, but that’s still a lot of plays for Shanahan to draw up for one player considering how he typically spreads his offense around and focuses on running the ball first. That’s what makes me think Aiyuk actually is good af and isn’t just manufactured

 

Julio was kicking ass for 4 years before Shanahan got to Atlanta they are not comparable sorry I’m just skimming posts lol

I’m saying the only time Kyle Shanahan truly featured a receiver before Aiyuk was when that receiver was really, really special.

Him inheriting Julio has nothing to do with that statement.

 

I’d be fine either way but I think I lean toward the vet move. Trevor is apparently open to a team friendly deal to help with future roster construction, so if they can make it work and bring in a proven guy then they should do it. Trevor needs someone like Ridley that he trusts will be there if he throws it in those small windows that he can hit. I don’t think he would have that with a rookie for at least a year or two.

I think I would prefer Tee over Aiyuk because he’s younger and already has on-field chemistry with Trevor. But I think Cincy is less likely to move him than SF moving Aiyuk.

i’m fully in on that idea of the panthers packaging 33 and 39 to move up to the 10-14 range if brock is still there but i’m dubious he makes it to 10

Deebo's one fully healthy season he had 1400+ yds. And like 400 rushing yards and 8 TDs. And look at all this massive amount of elite talent is not the point I think you think it is. Teams can't focus on Aiyuk because they have Deebo, the #1 RB in the league, and a Top 3 tight end.

 

I feel like that was always a joking point with Julio is that he would get a thousand targets to the 1 yard line and never get the endzone targets lol

 

And I still agree with Dustin that it’s not a guarantee. He might be a malcontent with a shitty attitude. He might just use us to inflate his value next year and springboard to a more surefire competitor.

But you know what else isn’t a guarantee, any of the top 10 teams wanting to trade out for a reasonable value lol. As bad as I wanna trade up for a WR the only real way to do that is trade up with another WR hungry team that’s gonna extort us for it because we might want the WR they want

Aiyuk may be our best option on draft day

For my money Aiyuk still won more matchups and tough routes than Ridley did

He managed to get instant chemistry out of Zay fucking Jones I have no worry about him getting one of the three best WR prospects since Chase up to speed
