I've been online with an insurance broker for the last hour, trying to get new quotes for home and auto. One company denied me because I have a $0 home claim from 2 years ago that I didn't pursue and paid myself out of pocket. But because I called my insurance company about it, it's now on my record.

Ok. Let me know when you know for sure. I'm kinda between sizes, so it depends if I'm an L or XL.

We just printed a bunch of shirts at work on Comfort Colors, and I'm probably never going back.

I'm kinda in that situation too, I am a new L but the moment it shrinks I am no longer an L

Actually @Fucking Dustin now I’m remembering something happened - mid show I noticed the mic stand was hanging off the stage, tried to fix it with my foot while playing, ended up knocking it over. A person real quickly put the mic back on the mic stand on stage and I kept going, but I didnt re-adjust the mic after that song even though it was at an uncomfortable angle (why?? Lol). Eventually I felt myself pull that neck muscle and that’s when I adjusted it but it was already too late

Have y’all washed your Terrain shirt yet, was there the usual expected shrinkage?

For what it's worth I notice it in many clips so it's not a onetime thing, just was probably worse in this show

I've washed it but haven't worn it after washing but I also got mine in XL I think so it's probably fine for me

Yeah I’m just trying to know for future reference. We are like, basically out of mediums but if they shrink maybe a lot of those people who would buy mediums would be more interested in buying the large size

Likewise if more large shirt wearers thought ahead like you and bought an extra large we’d probably have a more even distribution lmao

I also wanna make sure to get some 3XLs next run, definitely feels shitty to not have sizes for all my friends. We got 2XLs but I’ve had a couple people ask for a 3XL and I felt bad about saying we didn’t make those

Noted. Is it just on a regular basis im angling my neck downward, and do you think that that affects my singing accuracy as well?

My vocal TONE I usually have a lot of control over but I would like to be less pitchy at times and I’m trying to leave no stone unturned. In-ear monitors would help a LOT… but so would consistently better posture

It's on a regular basis you're angling downward, I'm not someone who would be able to speak on singing accuracy though. I have the accuracy of a Stormtrooper and could not vocal coach in any way shape or form so I don't feel comfortable speaking on that

That said, most professional indie / punk / emo bands whose singer also plays guitar are pitchy at times. So I also shouldn’t be TOO hard on myself cause it’s just very tough to do if you also wanna hit pedals and have a bunch of stage energy at the same time. I’m not Beyoncé able to dance like THAT and still sing for real perfectly on key with no backing track lol. But there is always room for improvement when it comes to playing live

Yeah I'd say some of it comes with the territory of the genre being aggressive and having general shakiness

Another thing I should address is how often I sing at the top of my range lol. Like, a lot of indie/punk/whatever music is written for tenor singers and naturally my influences led me to write the same kinda melodies, but that’s locked me in a sort of a conundrum right?

Because my vocal trademark is my raspy shouted vocals when the song gets intense, that’s a thing people really consistently enjoy about my music - but I only started doing that cause that’s the only way I can belt out the high notes in a lot of my favorite bands’ music lol. So it’s now become an issue of like, just because I CAN hit those notes and sound good doing it, doesn’t mean it’s sustainable to wear my voice out every show like that. And when I write songs in the future I need to be more conscious of, I can only handle that vocal stress for 15 minutes a show before it starts affecting my performance.

And that’s probably also why I get pitchy on low notes - not only am I wearing my voice out on the higher ranges, but I’m also having to project / push the lower notes to be heard, since the sound engineer usually turns the mic down enough to handle my raspy shouts. If the loud parts are only a few times a song I can get away with just backing off the mic for those, but if half of a song is like that, my mic is getting turned down and there’s nothing I can do about it lol

tldr I’m a Baritone naturally and I should embrace it more and save the Tenor notes for the more climactic songs in the future
