Good, I’m sick of watching the same bozo teams do the same bozo shit in the AFC playoffs

@Fucking Dustin and @CarpetElf and anyone else, what do we think of this squad for SoulSilver?

1. Feraligatr - Waterfall, Crunch, Ice Fang, Aerial Ace -> Superpower

2. Noctowl - Air Slash, Psychic, Silver Wind, Fly

3. Ampharos - Discharge, Signal Beam, Focus Blast -> Power Gem, Fire Punch -> Rock Climb

4. Slowbro - Surf, Psychic, Avalanche, Shadow Ball -> Grass Knot

5. Heracross - Close Combat, Earthquake, Aerial Ace, Rock Slide

6. Ninetales - Flamethrower, Extrasensory, Dark Pulse, Nasty Plot

This team is largely put together with the elite four, Lance, and Red in mind. My only concern is Lance’s Dragonite that knows Thunder, but my hope is he either misses or fails to one-shot my Feraligatr or Slowbro, who I’m relying on for their ice moves. Otherwise, I’m hoping Heracross can get the job done with Rock Tomb since I won’t get Rock Slide until Kanto

 

Can you do Ice Beam instead of Avalanche on Slowbro? That feels much more valuable

I also don't know if you're getting enough out of Signal Beam but I'm not sure what I'd replace it with. If you can get Hidden Power Ghost or Dark near the Signal Beam damage I'd do those instead of Signal Beam, otherwise yeah Signal Beam works

I like your general plan though but those are the things that come to mind looking at this. Also if Ninetales is Drought ability maybe you could do Solar Beam to beat Water types?

If I plan on grinding away at Voltorb Flip, I can get Ice Beam for Slowbro to take advantage of his better special attack stat, but idk how long that’ll take and I’m trying to avoid grinding where I can. I figured Avalanche, despite it being physical, would still get the job done with Dragonite’s 4x weakness to ice and the fact that his Dragonites will likely damage me first anyway, thus double Avalanche’s base power before that 4x boost

 

If the Slowbro can live Dragonite hitting first very comfortably I agree, if not then I'd go for Ice Beam since you're only getting 1 use out of it if that's the case

 

I won this big squirtle at Kennywood last year. He just sits in this corner doing nothing.

I’m hoping with Slowbro’a bulk that it can. Originally, I was going to go with Mamoswine over Slowbro, but I’m a little turned off by the idea of finding a Swinub late in Johto in the low 20s (the level curving in this game stinks) and the fact that it has a slow growth rate. I don’t live it’s move pool either and I’m not sure how often I would use Mamoswine outside of the battle with Lance, aside from Surge and Red’s Pikachu

 

Yeah getting a Mamoswine in general is rough, I like the Slowbro plan better

 

I almost played again this year to get a pikachu but I decided not to. Can’t have 2 lazy Pokémons laying around the apartment doing nothing.

 

I loaded up PokeMMO last night cuz of the talk and looked at my team for FireRed/LeafGreen:
Wartortle, Pidgeotto, Oddish, Nidorino, Porygon, Sableye

Kinda rough rn

 

Is catching a Swinub to evolve into Mamoswine not an option?
