I don't have a summer vacation planned sadly but I'm to take a half day next Friday and then we're going to the beach for the weekend for Sarah's birthday so that'll be nice.

But I'll have a week off in September to go to New York and see the thread's namesake.

 

Also I feel like an asshole for talking shit about not earning PTO because I found out my job does offer it once you’ve been there 6 months. Rare for a restaurant but I suppose hotel restaurants are different.

it’s just server PTO though, you get paid $15 an hour and only more if you’re a veteran there, it’s not close to what you make in tips. But that right there still means I can pay my bills separately while also touring with my band so that opens up the possibility of a 3 week full ass tour once I accumulate enough time

 

currently have 14 days of PTO left

will probably take the day after the childish gambino concert off work since that concert is on a sunday and my birthday is a couple of days after

one week off to go to Pennsylvania in mid-september

may try to take a short trip for our 1st anniversary in mid-october

then i'll just use whatever is left around christmas/new year's

 

i have unlimited pto which in theory is cool, but when i quit i wont get a sneaky little additional $$$ on my check

 

ours has to be used within the calendar year or it's just gone

I’ve been dying to plan another beach trip and September is really the best time, I don’t have anything against families with kids but ALL OF THEM are out at the same time all summer break and then suddenly in September it’s… quiet and only the smart parents waited till then to do the family beach vacation
