Seeing 3 maybe even 4 movies next weekend. @JoshIsMediocre could never.

 

What movies

 

Overall tbe shows that went the best in terms of performance, venue, pay, networking, friends helping us out, and crowd all factored in:

1) Durham NC (one of the sickest house shows I’ve played, got in with another Durham venue, awesome pics and video, made like 30+ fans, best paying gig on the tour too.)
2) Pittsburgh PA (surprisingly large crowd in a coffee shop despite a playoff game going on, lot of people responded well, “in” with a booking agency as well as another house venue that looks DOPE, hanging with JR and Nick was cool, enjoyed Pittsburgh’s vibe enough to come back a lot)
3) Akron OH (crowd stuck around for us despite us playing last, people were receptive to me cold promoting us with stickers before we went on, INCREDIBLE venue that’s gonna be packed all the time once it’s been in business longer, they recorded a full video of the set, the owners of Rialto Theatre were there so we made another Akron connection)
4) Chicago IL (I saw an amazing city & ate tavern pizza, we got IN in, not just one venue but a promo company, that venue, and a second venue all said they’d book us, I overcame a panic attack and we KILLED this performance, met an incredibly hot woman who I might try to stay in contact with for next trip to Chicago lol)


The rest of the shows were fun but these ones really felt like they had velocity and we established fanbases and strong booking connections in those cities. Plus we had very convenient places to stay in all four.

 

September 5th on Friday, the brutalist on Saturday and wolf man on Monday with my dad. Might sneak the last showgirl in there somewhere too.

Wolf man just looks meh from the trailers. But I would like to be wrong about the actual product.

Brutalist is the one I’m jealous about. Only playing in SF near me rn and that trip plus the long-ass movie has me hoping it comes closer

 

Detroit show was kinda ass but I’m still glad we played it and met @Joe4th I just won’t be booking it at a game shop that forgets we had a show, doesn’t pay much and doesn’t even set the lighting in the room to be nice lol

it’s not even in actual Detroit anyway I was bummed we didn’t get to see any of the cool urban bits of it

 

yeah I’m very pumped for the brutalist, thought I was going to have to go to a not great theater but my Cinemark is getting it this weekend.
