i still don't see what makes the yankees 'favorites' other than the media driven narrative that they have a uniform number for him. every reporter is saying something different lol

if they get him they get him but if anyone is a betting favorite right now its gotta be the dodgers. both the dodgers and the mets can and would outspend Hal.

 

I liked it a lot better when I thought it would be Yankees vs. Mets and maintained the fantasy that Yamamoto would want to go to the team with the winning history/bigger international brand.

Let's be clear, though, if Yamamoto is swayed by that story of a uniform number, maybe we don't want him on the team anyway....there is no way it's a true story

 

i seen and heard so many different things;

- he wants the # 18
- he wants to play with other Japanese players
- he doesnt want to play with other Japanese players
- he wants to play where he can be the guy
- he wants the most money

mlb off season is just so goddamn exhausting lol

 

Bottom line is these reporters are just pawns. They are either simply guessing/making things up or being feed information from the agents or front office to drive up prices.
