Acuña's 2023 might be more entertaining, I definitely could get that. But if you think it's as good/valuable as peak Trout you're vastly underrating defense and overrating base running imo.

I think Kersh > Koufax is a good take at this point. We can play "what if" about Koufax if TJ had existed when he got hurt...but then you realize Kershaw has never had TJ himself haha

Randy is in some senses a stat accumulator and never quite had a peak as dominant as Kershaw (and never was the consensus best pitcher in the game because of overlap with Clemens and Pedro and 90s Braves) but there just wasn't anyone else fucking like him at the time. Scary as hell. I'm biased tho, he's probably my favorite player all-time who never played for my team.

 

Is Acuña not a big 1st to 3rd or 2nd to home guy? Stolen bases are cool and I sort of anticipated him being the most valuable baserunner if not second to someone like Corbin Carroll but Fangraphs has him at #7

 

also Kershaw is forever my goat and history will look upon him very fondly once the retrospectives happen in 5-10 years
