It's the preseason. Why.

Currently in LA and with the hurricane uncertainty my flight home got changed to Friday so I'm thinking of going to the Ducks game on Thursday.

Was watching some clips apparently the personalized one timers are totally busted in that game. Can score from the point like 90% of the time with that feature.

Just learned Swaynan's agent is Lewis Gross (edit: didn't read the above tweet in full, apparently), who, for those unaware, is notorious for being an extremely difficult shitbag. There are multiple examples of his clients being involved in long-ish-term holdouts that only ended because the players themselves intervened and told him to cut the shit and get a deal done, namely William Nylander and our recently departed Mr. Johnny Gaudreau.

Obviously I'm enjoying watching Boston fumbling one of the league's top goalies, but it's hard to imagine Bruins management being solely, or even mostly, responsible for this.

 

What people forget is how before the cap star players would hold out a lot. A bunch of Montreal legends, including a full year hold out by Ken Dryden, Bure, yashin, messier. Top five players now don't do it because they do get their worth as a percentage of the cap but that's why mid-tier players have to.

Also, to keep beating a dead horse, it really fucking sucks when the third greatest player of all time takes 8.7 on a mid team because of love or passion or some shit. That contract will come up for every player who demands more than that.

And before the bootlickers crucify me, just remember that bettman and the owners took two full years of hockey from us because they refused to budge on PA demands. Players want to hold out, so be it. Swayman caving for less means Jeremy Jacobs wins and fuck that guy.

not to say I don’t agree with your larger point, because you are correct, but Sidney Crosby’s extension isn’t gonna move the needle because it’s been accepted that he’s a weird superstitious guy. Exception rather than the rule. Mackinnon, Matthews, Draisaitl etc have been one-upping each other the past few years and those are gonna be McJesus’ comparibles for extension negotiations. Bowman brings up the Crosby deal during extension talks and he gets laughed out of the front office.
