clap bomb into the open net was amazing. If you don't like it, don't lose to the Sens next time.

I have been having a ball lately watching the otherwise normal Leafs fans that I follow pull out their tinfoil hats this past week.

Down goes brown is probably my favorite hockey guy and he's usually the first to trash on the leafs despite being a life long fan. Even he was like "parros hates leafs e5". The numbers are a little suspicious - since parros started the leafs have the highest number of suspended games and players are also suspended the least when playing against the leafs. He thinks that it all comes down to the league bending over backwards to not look biased in favor of the leafs.

So relieved that even with markstrom supposedly dropping his nmc, a deal with the devils didn't pan out. Fitz held his line on cal retaining salary and wasn't giving up enough.

But it's scary to see that vezina caliber goalies want to play in NJ.

yeah idk I saw that but someone’s gotta be first know what I mean? I saw another leaf fan account that I typically find to be insightful and measured say something to the effect of “it was only five games because of leafs fan out, cry“ which seems beyond deluded

Perron got 6 and his was a little bit more excessive so 4-5 is exactly what I expected

That said, I take zero issue with Rielly doing it

I am just super curious to see what the package is/was because Fitz typically doesn't like dealing high caliber prospects like Holtz for 30+ year old players

wing-cbj at osu. likely happening march 1st 2025

everyone originally thought that would be the winter classic. making it the stadium series game instead is interesting

it should be the winter classic… that stadium is huge! i’m excited regardless, should be a lot of fun.

we’ll see how the market goes for Markstrom between now and the TDL, but i don’t blame Calgary for not wanting to retain salary. Teams are game to pay non-play driving forwards $8 mil because they can shoot the puck, but are unwilling to pay $6 mil for a vezina candidate in net in the prime of his career? weird to me.

Winter Classic was never going to happen with OSU bc they don't want any big events to interfere with the OSU season. With college football moving to the new format next year, they are likely going to be playing or hosting games.

Been waiting for this news ever since the Babcock blunder. I am curious when JD steps down after the front office changes are settled. I think the team will let him retire on his own terms (rightfully so), but I think with his role in things and his health, it's reasonable to expect a change there eventually as well.

there’s a lot of things that happened in Columbus that were out of Jarmo’s control, but those were still choices he made that led to the end of his job. Going back to the unraveling of the roster- he could have chosen to move guys close to their contract expiration (think- Debrincat, Dubois)… he could have opted for a more stable coaching choice heading into 2023, considering Babcock was out of the league for a very good reason… there’s obviously so much more that goes into it, but it is a bummer that Columbus seems to still struggle to build their team up for more than a couple of years at a time.

I am aware of the schedule. I am just saying, as someone that follows the Blue Jackets, this was the reasoning. It's not really a matter of could they do it. OSU didn't want it during the football season. It's been a long road to get to this point. The OSU stadium just recently was weatherproofed (about $500-$600k in renovations) to be NHL approved for outdoor games.
