Chase this light, for me, is their most underrated album. Definitely more poppy than futures, but a lot of great hooks.

I am at a place in my life where I have no interest in listening to the middle anymore.

 

Bleed and Futures are very good, Clarity is fairly good, I stopped at Chase this Light cause it wasn’t as good. I should listen to Integrity Blues

 

It’s exactly what central Nashville is now lol. A hollow bougie corporate shell of what it once was. You go to Broadway and you do see excellent country *musicians*…. But they ain’t playing original country songs. It’s all top 40 covers with a redneck accent

I also don’t necessarily agree with Jimmy Eat World being a “nostalgia only” band, they were never one of the bands that intentionally sounded like teenagers so they can appeal to teenagers. I see them more as “pop rock for adults” than “whiney punk rock for high schoolers”

 

they’re better than a nostalgia band for certain but they’re nowhere near as good as the people on this site and this site only would have you believe

I don’t think they’re “nostalgia only” — that implies that they’re bad and nostalgia is their one redeeming factor. They just sit somewhere between mid and pretty good for me, and with nostalgia, I’d probably be a lot fonder
