I think Tomlin has one year left so I assume he will have one more chance to hire an OC. He will live or die by the next hire/pickett

 

I’ll believe it when I see it, but I think Caleb is 1.1 and that 21 year old Drake Maye goes before 23 year old Jayden Daniels

 

Does he wanna tie his last year there to Pickett?

At the least, I think they have a 1A option to quickly switch to if Pickett isn’t It next year (like Jimmy G or Baker on the high end assuming one of them doesn’t land a sure fire starting gig or someone like Minshew on the low end) and at most, I think they turn the page if the opportunity presents itself to draft someone they like

 

Mike Caldwell has GOT to have better answers when our CBs are losing man coverage battles, just continuing to be that aggressive no matter how they’re playing ain’t it.

They probably bring in a vet to challenge. Maybe they draft someone in the 3rd or 4th or something. But they need to go LT/C in round one and two if it makes sense.

I don’t buy this one bit. He’ll at least finish out his contract.

 

The last two hiring cycles, Pittsburgh has gone with a young, up-and-coming defensive coach who has a strong personality and vibes with players, but isn’t a household name. It’s such a narrow profile. They’re not going to just do the same interview cycle as other teams. They know what kind of coach they want, and frankly, Tomlin is probably better than an unknown guy right now for them.

 

It makes zero sense to fire Tomlin
