Jags gonna Jag I guess, even if I think 60% of it is the OC’s fault I also have no leg to stand on if the players also lose confidence and fall apart like that under adversity

 

i cannot emphasize enough how much Press Taylor was calling our 2nd half games last year. i love a scapegoat as much as the next guy tho

So he’s only good when we HAVE to be aggressive? What gives then, why are we being overly conservative until it’s too late to begin with? Not being able to call full games is still being a bad OC.

The main reason we’ve had leads in games is because our defense kept playing lights out and giving him a handicap. But generally if you can’t generate offense early on, you’re gonna fall behind and it’s gonna make it that much harder to even do what your gameplan was in the first place. This time the 49ers took advantage of their drives, our defense couldn’t give us second and third chances after dysfunctional drives, and we got in a hole.

Press Taylor’s gameflow being predictable and getting the Jags offense into a rut every single game is a problem regardless if he can coast on having a great RB and defense this year. Offense not playing well / consistently even when we have the lead has always been a problem, and it’s even more obvious when we didn’t have a lead (all three losses were like this!)

 

I have absolutely no idea or explanation. But him calling plays is nothing new. Everyone has been bad.

 

Is it normal to switch who is calling plays by quarter/half? That seems...really dumb lol

Trevor going off in the fourth quarter of some games last year, might have nothing to do with Press. That might have just been Trevor going beyond the script. How do we know to credit Press - especially considering our second half performance in closer games last year was often dogshit.

If all Press is good at doing is 1) FINALLY calling deep shots when the defense is playing soft zone (but sucking at creating opportunities for deep shots against any other coverage) 2) running the ball when we are already winning, that’s not great!

 

i wish i knew if firefly was coming back or not. i signed up for presale for this but, ultimately it will probably be too expensive to justify and id need to take an entire week of work which is boo.

I've been on board game cruises before. I think a music cruise would be cool, but also, I'm not sure.

 

the music cruises are always just SO much more expensive than the cruise itself would normally be. something like this is gonna be an easy $3k before ANY travel accomodations, and we could do this same cruise in an inside cabin for like, probably less than $1500 total. cruises are dirt cheap if you know when to book em.

 

Yeah, That's super true. When you add up the value of the additional entertainment options, it doesn't seem worth it

is maybe the dumbest argument for not firing Bill mid season, a position I even agree with. Without Tom Brady, we are in fact the Raiders lol

 

Benjamin is definitely a dork but I do like his analysis most of the time. And he seems be one of the only one's looking at this with a level head and not just blaming Trevor. I agree he did not have a great game yesterday but it is certainly not all on him.

I agree they need to do more with Ridley as well. Hopefully Zay will be back this week and help open things up for him.
