It's not nametag scouting lol. His game against Jax would've been Russ's best game this year. That's literally the point of that post Josh shared - he was saying Russ and Mahomes are the same. That's why basic stats like that are incredibly misleading and useless.

thats a similar mistake I made when I said that saying Dell had more rookie yards than Andre/Hopkins is comparing Dell to Andre/Hopkins

it’s not even the message you should be getting from the stat so how can you criticize it haha. The message is, there were a couple GAMES where Mahomes played more on his floor and Wilson played at his ceiling

I think the funniest thing about this debate is that it's basically the same thing, simple stats being misused just like so many people misuse advanced stats in their own ways

I agree - what my issue is, is that you can’t have “contextual nuance” about what an advanced stat means, if you can’t even understand or see how the problem is formulated and how the different factors are weighted. At least when the stats are in a more basic form, you can weigh them yourself and then it really is just down to the individual person’s football knowledge how accurately they can assess those numbers

Agreed and that's a massive problem with how advanced stats are communicated, there's a lot of knowledge you can obtain from them but it's often reduced to "GOOD OR BAD?"
