Lol yup. Not drafting anyone for a known bad quantity like the OL was just beyond stupid. RR is bad and should have been fired last season. DC too

    The rivalry is back on

    agree on both accounts

I personally would pick Steichen and Stroud in those categories after 3 weeks, but there is a lot of season to go

kudos to Stroud/Collins for getting one of our corners demoted from starter to healthy inactive for being so bad last week

who would've thought that top tier talent would play like top tier talent! Anyway nobody look up Darnell Wright or Tyree Wilson

Maybe it's just wishful thinking but it seems like both LAC and Washington know how this season is going to end. I can't imagine Staley and Rivera are coaching by the end of the year.

And the Texans just cooked us but it doesn’t mean they’re better haha, same logic

Steichen is the best thing for AR, I’ll give you that. He knows how to run a mobile QB offense that protects the ball and gets consistent yards without expecting a lot of complicated timing and progressions. But we’ve seen many times that the league eventually catches up to that, defensively, and I’m withholding judgment until I see the Colts adapt and start asking more of AR.

Demeco is an elite DC and I’m a fan of that defense first mentality. The fact that a defensive minded coach got a QB who already understands what the NFL is REALLY asking him to do in those first 3 seconds after the snap, is what gets me.

I think over time the Colts are gonna be a team that usually has to score a lot to win and AR might crumble under that pressure once teams know how to stop his outside of pocket game. While the Texans have the coach who can turn them into a formidable defense so that Stroud can be patient. When you factor in that I think Stroud is already going through that aggressive “make reads faster and get more prepared” hump that Steichen is postponing for AR, and the fact that Stroud is already halfway there, that’s where I think the Texans are gonna be a bigger pain in my ass long term.

we’ve seen a lot of mobile QB offenses go OFF in their first year and then come back to earth in their second or third. This league demands west coast passing, because the best defenses are too good at stopping anything that isn’t precisely choreographed to happen within 2-3 seconds. I’m skeptical of how long you can pretend you don’t have to incorporate west coast passing into your offense to stay out of third and longs, and to have a smarter way of getting those downfield yards when the defense is stopping your improvised stuff. I see the Colts get the ball out of AR’s hands quickly sometimes but usually that’s by distracting opponents with his legs and then throwing a checkdown. That’s not very complicated, teams are gonna watch film and figure that out.

Yeah. If shitbird Snyder had sold the team earlier, I imagine the new owner would have fired the coaching staff (and front office) for this season.

I'm not terribly worried about Richardson passing more short yardage considering he was a rare example of a QB who got worse the closer the play was to the LOS. That's the area he needed to improve in the most.

idk, I only have a game and two drives of sample — my assumption is that they will move more towards this as the season progresses (and beyond, when they have a full offseason to work with him). Already week over week, AR’s recognition of reading the times when the QB should keep in the RPR greatly improved in those scripted plays and I’m guessing that was the point of emphasis in practice, and I’d imagine that the next point of emphasis would be working in more downfield shots that open up as a result of having multiple places to keep honest near the LOS.

he seems further along than I expected at this point, so I’m excited with the early results! Definitely more bullish than I was at the start of the season, which is a good place to be
