I think Panics’s Pretty Odd album has held up more than most of their other ones. Might not be a popular opinion.

I listened to that pool kids album and remember liking it but have no idea what they sound like now.

 

I think it Brendon Urie wasn't so grating to me as a person, I wouldn't dislike them as much tbh. Although I do think AAR is underrated in general.

My hot take in general is that OneRepublic is underrated as a group and very fun live. Oh My My is a fantastic album and better than the one that had Counting Stars.

All At Once by The Fray came on shuffle the other day and I was like damn this song is good as hell

 

I never go out of my way to listen to the Fray but I also don't think I've ever actively disliked a song I've heard from them either.

 

The Fray and OneRepublic have "hits" and I can see why they're popular... but that style of soft pop-rock music is often incredibly boring to me

 

well the flaming lips eccentricity is boring to me!!!

 

it is impressive that OneRepublic guy writes hits for a lot of pop stars, but it also kinda illustrates how much he needs the elite performance / talent of those pop stars for his formula to hit hard cause when it comes from him it just sounds like the most milquetoast thing I've ever heard

 

I feel that tbh lol I've never seen the Fray so I can't speak to them but OneRepublic's live show is pretty fun considering how unexciting a lot of their music is.

 

The word "annoying" made far more sense than the word "boring" haha

They're "too much" sometimes, certainly, but the records they were releasing in the late 90s / early 00s are the pinnacle of modern psychedelic pop
