I think so

this is shaping up to be the first year where there’s any real argument for a team left out of the playoff being the best team in the country so you’re normally just adding teams that already played themselves out of it to the field (ie. there is nothing that Mizzou or Penn State could do in a playoff to convince me that they’re actually the best team), and I like having late season games like Michigan/OSU and Alabama/UGA be play-in games versus being kinda meaningless jockeying for a bye

I also don’t like the idea of backloading the schedule with important games when a January injury wrecks draft stocks much more than an October or November injury for some of these guys, and I don’t think NIL payouts are big enough yet to compensate for that trade-off

8 with no conference championships or auto-bids or 4 with everything as-is is my preferred playoff size

Last year was a real annoying season for Arkansas. It was their best team in ages but they also had the hardest schedule ever...and had a disappointing season.

And now they crapped the bed even more

Id probably give Pittman one more year but this year was a terrible sign

 

How does Oregon state let that happen?

Looks like yet another game where Oregon looks better beating the same opponent as Washington did….

of course the PAC-12 title game will decide the playoff destiny so everything else is moot but man, the point differential for the same opponents only gets more lopsided

 

Looking forward to next Friday. Oregon made a lot of dumb decisions and mistakes during the first game, which is a game they should have won. They played better than Washington, but made some bone headed mistakes. I really hope that FSU loses one of their next two games. I don’t think they are a threat to Georgia without Travis and I’d rather see a one loss team who can be more competitive get the shot.

 

Just got my former Georgia Tech player boss’ season tickets for tonight for free but I was still blessed enough to be gouged for $25 worth of fees by seat geek for a parking pass lol

I’m happy for Smith, but that really sucks for Oregon State. Smith is a hell of a coach, but I have a feeling he might struggle at Michigan State with the new Big 10 expansion and the program being in a very low place right now.
