Memories are nice, but that's all they are. Prestigious

You have to do that deal. No free agent is coming to Detroit. Cade is going to improve. Dude has been playing with nobodies, had no coach last year and was coming back from an injury.

The thing about Mobley (and this is coming from a die-hard Cavs fan/huge Mobley fan) is that he'll never develop offensively so long as he's surrounded by two ball dominant guards while also playing along-side another non-shooting big on a team that has been competing for the playoffs since the day he was drafted at No. 3. In most scenarios, a top-5/10 pick is going to a bad/lottery team where that player is the focus of the offense going forward. Evan was never really given that opportunity to grow/develop offensively.

That said, he's still put up 15/9 each season as mostly a 3rd/4th option and has become one of the best defenders in the league already. That lone will make him worthy of close to the max.

cade having no one on his team but also never getting to the line isn’t great, if anything he should have gotten to the line more with such a high usage rate. idk. they definitely have to pay him but of the guys in this young generation, he’s one of the ones i’d want to be attached to long term the least

but im just a bucks fan i guess

    1) They def have to pay him
    2) Yeeeeesh though
    3) I do think getting to the line is a bit of a learned skill. Tatum had such a hard time with it. It was the big criticism of him just settling for his step-back 3 vs driving or moving the ball. He's been a looooot better, though not perfect, about it the last two years, but he's also now heading into his 8th year. Cade can get there.

Will be interesting to compare these situations to the Rockets in a few years, assuming the reports of them waiting on Jalen Green/Sengun extensions hold true. Will they regret not getting the extra years of control for either of them? How many of the above guys will have albatross contracts by comparison?

I guess the rockets might just flip one or both of them in a trade but still interesting!

  10. I’m sure @Blainer93 knows more but I always assumed they’re waiting on the extensions to do what Philly did with Maxey. Something along those lines

Cause I cannot imagine they’d like Sengun go. He has incredible potential

Correct, their cap holds are why they’re waiting to do theirs is my understanding. They also want to see how they do this season and see who is gonna stay or go out of a lot of the young guys.

That could definitely be the case - I know the NBA has used a mixture in the past.

The second half tonight was such a slog. Jeff Dowtin needs to make the Sixers' roster, though.
