Two more years plus a player option for LaVine is tough. Chicago should let him play and drive his price back up, especially since he's coming off an injury.

This said, trade him to Brooklyn for Ben Simmons. LaVine + Cam Thomas would be a fun offensive duo (and play zero defense).

 

There is at least a chance Cam leads the league in scoring next season with that roster in Brooklyn lmao. I will be watching

Cam Thomas could average 30 if they gave him the keys, and the team would be really bad still.

 

Brooklyn is gonna be horrid. But there’s nobody else on that team that’s going to shoot other than Cam Johnson.

Thomas averaged 23 last season. And nearly 27 over his last 20 games. He absolutely could lead the league in scoring on a terrible team unless Embiid or Luka is still forced to score 35 a game.

a lot of these rookie deals could look like complete ass in a few years. Cade, Wagner, Barnes etc. Mobley soon. specifically the Cade/Barnes deals because the teams are going to be bad for the foreseeable future

 

For the five years, the cap goes up by $14/$29/$46/$65/$85 million, year by year. It obviously looks like a huge deal, but it's the right move for the Pistons.
