25/31, 235 yards, 54 yards rushing, and a nice touchdown throw

13 point comeback, and broke that streak of losses vs teams who score 17 or more

 

80% completions, 109 QB rating too. His response to pressure was excellent today, showed some very nice pocket presence including a nice conversion from his own end zone where he sidestepped Maxx Crosby, and took 0 sacks

 

Technically zero turnovers too. He had a fumble recorded but that was Hasty dropping a toss running play, wasn’t Trevor’s fault

Preface: fuck Tyreek Hill.

Couple of podcasts have been talking about Tyreek and the possibility of him breaking the receiving yards in a season record set by Calvin Johnson in 2012 so I wanted to take a look at it to see the pace.

Through 9 games:
Johnson: 60 catches, 974 yards, 2 TD’s
Hill: 76 catches, 1,104 yards, 3 TD’s

Lions may have finished that year 4-12, they were 4-5 after their first 9 games so it wasn’t just Stafford throwing the ball to Johnson 100% of the time because why not.

Johnson actually had a pretty meh season through 7 games. From game 8 (week 9) to game 15 he had at least 120 receiving yards and usually double digit catches.

Tyreek would need to average 107.5 receiving yards over their last 8 games to tie the record (1,964 yards) which certainly is possible and since the game has turned to passing I won’t be shocked if he gets it, but Johnson certainly didn’t have a #2 to get passes thrown his way like Hill has with Waddle so if Hill doesn’t get there I would assume it’s because of distribution to other playmakers.

Also wild that Hill has a chance and the year he’s at since he had Teddy and some random throwing the ball for 3(+?) games but really only had one “bad” game with 2 catches for 33 yards in week 3.
