It was. As a KU alumnus I am over the moon, but it felt like the inverse of when we played you guys last.

We have been super streaky this season. I honestly did not think we would get this far in the tournament at all (I guessed Sweet 16 or Elite 8). I was on Mass St last night with around 25-30k fans going wild. I love this team despite its flaws and regardless of how tomorrow ends this has been a crazy overperformance by KU.

South Carolina was the real deal all season long, 10+ wins against the top 25 this year, and Dawn Staley was the best/coolest coach in WBB. Impressed that UConn found a way to make it to the championship game after a pretty rough season by their standards riddled with injuries, but the easy money was on South Carolina headed into this one, despite Geno’s record in championship games.

I probably shouldn’t be surprised anymore and maybe it’s been this way for a few years now but shocked this game is only on TBS. Shocked this isn’t also on a non-cable channel. Shocked the Final Four was the same way. Kind of crazy. Wonder how much TBS (or whoever their parent company is) paid.
