I personally don't care, but lots of people in Wisconsin hate him because he originally committed to UW, and then switched to Kentucky. Which was the right call, seeing as he's in the NBA now. But, that's one reason.

 

I think it's a combo of being on the Heat and his personality is off-putting to a lot of people. I personally don't have a strong opinion of him either way, I think he's a good player and every team in the league would be grateful to have him, anyone who says otherwise is a liar

Also, I didn't realize he started so many games this year? How did he even qualify for 6MOY?

straight up, the narrative on tyler herro is completely different had this not happened;

 

it is definitely 25% the wisconsin thing, 25% his general personality lol, and like 50% that, while he's obviously very talented, the amount of excuses that get thrown his way because, what, he was good in like three playoff games is unreal

think about the way people talked about jordan poole this year, who has done more in the playoffs in his career than herro, vs how people have talked about herro his entire career

 

Genuinely asking, what excuses get thrown his way? Because most of what I see is just people laughing at the Heat for not trading him.

And I'd take Herro over Poole without even debating it.

 

A very large segment of the nba media and definitely Twitter want so badly for there to be a white American star in the league especially like a scoring wing type of guy, I think Hayward got that benefit for a while, there was that couple of chandler parsons years where he got a big deal, now Herro is being treated in a way that does not line up with his resume and Austin Reaves is going to be next
