DJ had Becton pegged as his top OT last year and got laughed at.

Still pretty hard to see an IOL prospect like Slater ranked ahead of a generational OT like Sewell. And yes, I know Slater plays tackle for NW, but he will move inside in the pros.

 

A tight end with average speed that can't help as an inline blocker is not a top five prospect in any class. He's an exceptional receiver, but he is not a top five prospect. Maybe Top 15 for a team that has few needs.

 

That's fair. I've got a LOT to work through too so I know rankings will change.

 

Yeah I like Slater but what.

 

He's a badass player but his position deflates his value by default. I don't think he'll display very exciting timed speed at the NFL Combine either.

The best NFL TE prospect in college football is a true freshman for Notre Dame.

 

Two interior linemen in the top five says a lot about how DJ feels about the tackle group...

 

I like Sewell (obvi), Cosmi, Leatherwood, Darrisaw, Faalele, and Eichenberg rn

 

I think Wyatt Davis and Trey Smith are the second and third best offensive linemen in this class and I consider both to be interior players. Nasty maulers.

If Smith didn't have the health scares, he'd probably be getting some Top 10 hype right now (as a guard).

Those rankings just feel like Jeremiah is docking Sewell for sitting out.

 

Oh yeah I was just ranking tackles. I think Wyatt Davis and Trey Smith are #3 and #2 as well! Smith is a BEAST. His health definitely worries me though.

I can't imagine another reason.

 

Wyatt Davis is who I want for Panthers if we don’t get one of the QBs.

I wouldn't take him over Kyle Trask but I think he could be good. Then again, you guys are winning games with Cam Newton, who is literally the worst starting QB in the NFL rn so
