In particular I’m curious who was worse between the arrogant assholery of Adam Gase, the goofy failed potential of Dave Wannstedt, and the head scratchingly uncompetitive / meek Joe Philbin

I almost hate Wannstedt the most of the 3. Cause other not-that-great-coaches (see: Brian Billick, Jon Gruden, Doug Pederson etc) have taken replacement-level quarterbacks and won the big game off of defense and running the ball. Even Doug Marrone came a few bad playcalls / bad referee decisions away from getting there with Blake fuckin Bortles.

So for him to have an early 2000s Miami roster that was ELITE everywhere except QB, and fuckin keep missing the playoffs with it is horrible to me lol. And this was BEFORE Brady was even dominant, division was still wide open

 

Wannstedt had 2 HOFs (Zach should be in, sue me) on D as well as the best CB tandem in the league in Madison/Surtain....so yeah they should have won more than they did

so I think Wannstedt did the least with the most, but I don't hate him as much...maybe its because I was still younger and in middle/high school at that time

I think that Gase and Philbin are both utterly useless but I hate Gase more

 

Wannstedt also had peak Ricky Williams which is what really makes it insane to me

they didn’t even have to throw the ball that much if he was creative. And it’s not like Fiedler or Feeley or whoever had no weapons, Chambers and McMichael in a run-first offense to begin with is pretty good

 

Ricky Williams 2002 season was the most dominant season by any Dolphin I've ever seen

 

Best Jags performances I’ve ever seen:

1) Calais Campbell, Telvin Smith, & Jalen Ramsey in 2017. All time great season for all three players. They legit carried an otherwise average roster almost to the Super Bowl.

2) Keenan McCardell, Jimmy Smith, and Tony Boselli in 1996. Again they legit carried an otherwise average roster almost to the Super Bowl. Obviously I don’t remember this happening very clearly in real time, but I’ve gone back and watched all the games that are online.
