Admittedly, I say this from a position of sympathy. As a Mets fan, look forward to Spring Training and Opening Day, sure. But the rest of the season? The dying hope of a mediocre April and May? The crushing June collapse? I would describe it more as Stockholm Syndrome than looking forward to things (although I'm looking forwars to Scherzer saving us this year)
