Ultimately he's still effectively a rookie manager (last year was exceptional in so many ways) who's made some mistakes. He's certainly not the only one responsible for this season, although the way the Mets just died when they still had a hint of a chance was something that I'm not sure I'd seen before. At least not as bad as it was. It's sad because he's been in the organization forever, was always loved in the minors, and now is managing many of the players that he managed when they were coming up. He's absolutely gone and he has to know that, but I do hope he gets a chance with another team. Maybe a rebuilding one that isn't expect to win at first
