Familia developing a HR problem out of nowhere is not ideal

 

Familia being a bad relief pitcher is certainly not out of nowhere

 

He was looking much better this year early on. But even when terrible, he never really gives up home runs. His HR/9 is over 2 since the all-star break though. This isn't normal bad Familia (i.e. no control, walking everybody giving up tons of singles, etc.)

Just catching up on this deGrom news. I fear that since they don’t actually know what is wrong this is just gonna keep happening again every time he throws? Like they aren’t treating anything he’s just not throwing. I’m as far from a medical expert as can be but I just don’t see this ending well for him if they can’t pinpoint an actual issue

 

Nah i’m with you - i wouldnt say theres something fishy going on, but there seems to be a whoole lot of unknown, which feels unacceptable. I dont think he pitches again this season.

 

Regarding the deGrom news, could be that the Mets know what’s wrong but aren’t publicly stating it for whatever reason. At least that’s what I hope because if they truly don’t know that’s pretty concerning.

 

The mets organizational failure to properly recognize and treat injuries is well established.
