  1. Arrieta waived

Is his career over the same day as Chris Davis? Kinda freaky

As a Rangers fan I was bummed about him being traded but in retrospect I appreciate the contributions we received from Koji

Jake Arrieta's career is crazy to me considering his days as an Oriole

So well said. We are pretty much the same age I see, so we grew up watching the exact same teams in the late 90s and dealt with the woeful 00s as well.

September 2011 through October 2016 were the most fun years of baseball watching for me.... I just revisited some of the 2014 playoff footage last week because the O's inducted JJ Hardy into their HOF on Saturday. I still get chills watching Hardy score the go-ahead run in the ALDS against the Tigers on Delmon Young's double in the 8th. So epic.

Seriously the Orioles were beyond blessed to have him as the lead announcer during those relevant seasons. Dude was/is excellent.

  20. Yep, sounds like our experiences line up pretty well. I'm 34 and started really getting into baseball in 1998 (the first of the O's 14 consecutive losing seasons), so those years were literally the first time I'd ever followed meaningful baseball late into the season.

I was there for the Delmon double and it was absolutely electric. Still can't watch it without getting chills. The broadcast actually panned to my wife and I in the crowd after the final out of that game.

Also Gary Thorne is a treasure and I will hear no other opinion on this matter.

Yelich hasn’t been awful, but I really can’t believe how good the team is with him being so average this year. He’s usually the catalyst.

Gary Thorne hate needs to GTFO

His exasperation over Gleyber killing the Orioles that one year is classic

He was the best hitter I’ve watched in person from a pure strength standpoint. Saw him hit one into the platform in right field on a pitch that was basically in the dirt.
