I want a baseball team. I gotta figure out how to get to one of the local minor league teams or something this year.

 

Expansion is coming in next 5 years I bet. Sounds like it'll be Vegas or Portland for the western option (probably Montreal in the east with a slight chance of Nashville/Charlotte), so maybe become an investor in an anti-Vegas PR smear campaign or something? Haha

I would bet heavily on Portland and Nashville being the two added teams. I dont think Vegas would be a good baseball town, and i know from being told by people who live there that nashville is dying for baseball. I bet theyd trade the titans for a baseball team.

 

I think montreal get a team again but only because they move the Rays or something

 

But idk if theyd want to al east teams in canada?

 

Why? It would make it the same kind of rivalry as yankees red sox?

 

Just a counterpoint to this from someone who has lived within a few hours of Nashville basically my whole life. I think transplants might be dying for a baseball team in town and they'd have good attendance numbers a la Coors but they'd struggle to gain traction and develop a true fanbase, which means less TV revenue, low payroll bc owners are cheap etc etc. Nashville area is kinda in the crosshairs of three different pretty well-established fanbases (Braves/Reds/Cardinals).

I think they should absolutely bring the Expos back but if they don't then Charlotte is a better choice. And then agree a billion times over that Portland is a much much better baseball market than Vegas. Plus the Mariners need a regional rival since they literally travel twice as many miles as any other team (or at least did as of the way scheduling was done a few years back).

 

And still the best record in the NL wow

The stadium in Hillsboro is actually really nice for a minor league team. I’m going to three games so far including taking my five year old daughter to her first ball game on Father’s Day.

Getting runners on, especially in scoring position, is a death sentence for any offensive half of an inning for us

 

That’s where I wanna go! Been there a few times for other things, but no games. Shoulda gone when I lived out there.

Love how the Orioles can go from looking like a total hapless disaster to pretty much domination in the span of a few days.

I hope I don’t eat my words with this, but if nothing else this doesn’t look like a 100-loss team like pretty much everyone expected.
