I remember a year or two ago, the Caps scored a goal against the Devils and had 6 guys in their goal celebration huddle. There were no delayed penalties or an empty net, etc.

I don't find this to be much of a controversy, but I'll take a grey area incident here and there. Because if this was called to the letter of the law consistently, pace of play and a lot of other aspects of the game - as both a player and viewer - would be miserable.

It makes sense, he’s close to a milestone and he is still incredible. In fact, I don’t really understand why he had such a difficult time with the decision when he is still so good and still probably has a good couple of years in him.

I wonder how the Bruins offseason will end up going. They have Bergeron back now, which is great, but they took a step back this year and the core continues getting older. It feels like a very important offseason, they kinda need to make some changes sooner than later if they want to avoid a rebuild.

 

I don’t blame him for taking time to think about it. He’s had a ton of injuries over the years and probably wants to think about his future outside of hockey. Between that, incompetent management, a barren prospect pool, it’s made sense that he wants to see what direction the team is going in.

Even though the cup contention window realistically closed a couple years ago, I would imagine they are going to go all in, knowing that this is likely his last year. Pasta extension probably gets done soon, I would expect them to take a run at Kadri as well. They will have to clear a ton of cap to do any of this however.

there are a ton of potential good free agents and from what Friedman said there are going to be some crazy moves for teams that are up against the cap
