Catching up on news throughout the season and am I reading correctly that the Rangers fired their GM (Gorton), hired Drury as GM and then Drury got fired three days later? Is that right? What in the world lol

 

No, he’s still the gm right now

 

Ok that makes sense. Figured that would be a bigger story for any team if they fired their GM three days after hiring him, but that would especially be news in NY.

Weird, Wikipedia shows him as GM from May 5-8th) on the Rangers 20-21 season page but his actual page still lists him as GM. I know Wikipedia isn’t the bastion of truth but I wonder why they have dates on the Rangers page.

 

If they don’t make the playoffs this coming season he’ll probably get fired

 

He'll get fired depending on what happens in the first game against Tom Wilson because that's how totally rational and sensible hockey organizations work.

When thinking about punishing Chicago realize that the league took away Arizona's first rounder over a scouting issue.

This is leagues beyond that. I'd imagine both monetary and organizational penalties in addition to legal issues. I also realize this is an original six team in a top five profit town so a fraction of what should happen will happen.
