I was listening to the cowboys draft podcast and Broddus said he had burns at 42 on his board

Burns is a guy that I’m not really feelin as much as everyone else is.

He has very high potential, but I wouldn’t take him over Sweat or Ferrell.

  3. There’s growing reports that the Panthers are in love with Grier and will heavily consider him in the second round.

I don’t know how to feel about that. But it tells me they are very concerned about Cam’s shoulder. There were reports last offseason that the team was worried about his health but those reports didn’t get a lot of attention, especially after his hot start. But the way he finished the season, and with them looking so closely at Grier, something is up. I’m scared.

Grier is from NC and grew up a Panthers fan so it could be his agent pushing that news, who knows?

so Prisco swears that he has sources telling him ARZ is not taking Murray 1st overall

I am interested to see his meltdown if it happens

I'm driving the Hockenson hype train off the rails this week. If he makes it past Jacksonville at 7 I'm going to be priming myself for a meltdown like I had last year when the Bills drafted Josh Allen

What is "things that will make me seriously consider not being a Bills fan anymore"

In all seriousness aside from the fact he's a top 10 prospect on almost every analyst's big board, here's how I have talked myself into this position. These thoughts aren't in order of importance.

Beane, McDermott and Daboll all know first hand the effect a top tier TE can have on an offense. Beane and McDermott from Olsen in Carolina, Daboll from his time in New England with Gronk.

Last year, we knew Baker, Darnold and Rosen had been in for top 30 visits long before the draft. Things were very quiet around Allen until the last couple of days when the Top 30 visit and private workout leaked and things started getting loud. There is no word surrounding the Bills and either Iowa TE as far as I know, but interest in Sample, Sternberger and others has leaked.

The Bills have been frequently using a tackle eligible package on short yardage for at least 4 seasons now because Charles Clay was not a great blocker and/or always hurt. That package can go away with Hockenson starting.

Beane was asked something about tight ends at his pre draft presser and he only said something about how they grade tight ends 3 separate ways (run game blocking, pass game blocking, receiving or something to that effect) and then assign an overall value.

Edit: sorry for the Randall post

Randall will always “like” Randall posts haha. I’d rather read you guys explaining things about your team than beat writers

I do think T.J. is a great pick for them. I see them thinking "we need to get Josh Allen weapons" which is the right logic, but then drafting Metcalf which is the wrong execution.

I have no faith in them which is why I'm setting myself up for a meltdown. I am still ashamed at my reaction to the Allen pick to be honest. I didn't yell or anything but evidently I was very visibly upset, because my son who was 3 1/2 at the time came up to me like 5 minutes after the pick and was like "why are you so sad daddy?" and climbed up onto my lap to give me the biggest hug. I felt bad that I got him upset too.

He's a great kid. He got me calmed down for all of 30 minutes while I got him to sleep that night but then I picked my phone back up and my friends had me all fired up again, by the time the Bills traded up for Edmunds I was in full on "oh who the fuck cares" mode.

I will admit I didn't even turn the draft back on Thursday night last year after the Allen pick.

so now Montez Sweat is the latest guy thats apparently going to fall due to his health concerns

It shouldn't even feel like a drop for Sweat. He rose because of his Combine performance, yet the heart condition report has been out there over a month. It seemed like people were just disregarding that for awhile. The teams probably really noticed the day it was reported. An enlarged heart is a legitimate concern, as we unfortunately found out with Gaines Adams.

I'm so like unenthused for this draft, it feels like the sports media has tired a lot of the stories out as well. Maybe I'm totally wrong but it should've already happened a week or two ago.

  23. JRShoenberger

I love how the media reports around the draft, players rising, players dropping, etc.

Teams aren't now just finding out about health concerns or character concerns. The players are already low or high on their boards. The reporters are just now finding out, but they paint it as if the teams are actively playing scrabble with their draft boards up until the final minute.

Well, the NFL basically has major sway with ESPN so they dictate to them how they want the league to be covered.

    The rivalry is back on

This makes me excited for this draft, assuming enough GMs agree. I like weird draft
