so mets bullpen is Diaz, Familia, Wilson, Gsellman, Lugo. that's definitely not bad at all

I know we got Hector Santiago but i wouldn't mind getting one more guy like that. A Francisco Liriano, James Shields guy. Vargas and guarantee injuries to our staff... i'd like some more veteran backups

 

On the subject of hall of fame hats, I learned today Nolan Ryan was only a Ranger for 5 years which I didn't really realize and that's the hat he chose (9 as an Astro, 8 as an Angel)

 

My follow up is wondering how much involvement he had early on with the Rangers after retiring. That could make a difference.

I have had conversations with friends about Verlander’s hat if he gets in. They cannot fathom the potential of him wearing an Astros cap. My thoughts are that he has already won a championship in Houston... if they go on another run or two? Why wouldn’t he?

I wouldn't be surprised if several teams roll out new designs in 2020. The classics will stay the same, but some drastic or minute changes always come for some teams when Nike takes over uniforms.

 

The brown/gold uniforms are cool as hell. The current Padres uni is almost offensively boring.

I know everyone hated the Dbacks unis when they were announced, but I’ve come all the way around on them and now think they’re sick and more teams should embrace more color, especially non-standard colors.

 

Was it always up to the players as to what cap was on the plaque? I swear I remember Gary Carter being somewhat disappointed he went in as an Expo and not a Met. Like it wasn’t his choice or something. I dunno.

Wow, didn't know that... and surprised then that Vladdy went in with an Angels cap and not an Expo's one.

How does the MLB Hall of Fame pick which cap a player wears during enshrinement?

 

Yea, it was really disappointing but I understood why.
