Really bad article. Basically won’t vote for Mo bc Kimbrel had a bad 2018 post season? lol

Also, “Adam Vinatieri missed a FG in the first period.” That sentence alone tells me everything about the guy who wrote this.

seriously. he might as well have just typed out “i am a boston area sports fan/writer so i cannot vote for a yankee so here’s some bullshit reasoning to back up my cowardly approach:”

    is this a dream? ✫・゜

It makes me so mad that Machado is going to end up with the Yankees. I fucking hate the Yankees. Baseball needs a salary cap because its getting pretty ridiculous.

Nah. Spending in baseball doesnt equal a championship. The lack of salary cap actually benefits the league. There's nothing stopping the other teams to get machado

Obviously the yankees red Sox and Dodgers have the advantage of bring able to eat costly mistakes but other than that they have no severe advantage

  13. I mean that is a huge advantage

sure but it's lead to just 2 championships in 10 years (and none for a certain blue team from Los Angeles).

Imagine if there was a hard salary cap now and the Philles and White Sox were the only teams that were in on Harper and Machado. You think the ruckus over not playing players last year was bad? Get ready for an ugly strike lol

  16. the only small market team to win a World Series in the last 10 years is the Kansas City Royals

the Yankees, Cubs, Phillies, Giants, Cardinals, Astros, and Red Sox can all afford to eat costly mistakes.

the top 10 most valuable MLB teams in 2018 according Forbes
    1. Yankees ($4B)
    2. Dodgers ($3B)
    3. Cubs ($2.9B)
    4. Giants ($2.85B)
    5. Red Sox ($2.8B)
    6. Mets ($2.1B)
    7. Cardinals ($1.9B)
    8. Angels ($1.8B)
    9. Phillies ($1.7B)
    10. Nationals ($1.675B)

so? what does that list show me. The Dodgers haven't won a championship in 30 years. The Cubs won 1 championship in 100 years. I'm a mets fan. How are the Angels looking? How many world series have the nationals been to? And I didn't realize St Louis was a big market these days.

I mean in the past 10 years we've seen 13 different teams in the world series (and 7 different champions).

NFL past 10 years; 9 different champions, 14 different teams
NBA past 10 years; 6 different champions, 9 different teams
MLB past 10 years; 7 different champions, 13 different teams

  19. the point is that over the last 10 World Series 8 of those teams have been ranked in the top ten of valuation and total revenue - those are teams that can risks on high priced rentals at the deadline or sign players to $300 dollar contracts without tanking their entire payroll

that's the point. the teams that win the World Series are the teams that make/have the most money

  20. I mean shit the Mets made the World Series just 3 seasons ago

nah I kid, in my lifetime I've seen my football team win championships twice and as exciting as those nights were, there was no feeling quite like that july-september in 2015 watching the mets come back from the brink of elimination to where they got. i truly get chills talking about it with people. being at those games and seeing that kind of run happen is my favorite sport memory of my life thus far. we were at the game on 8/2/15 when they completed the sweep of the nationals and duda and murphy hit back to back HRs to take control of 1st place and i've never been in a louder sports environment.

The Astros won the the world series because of free agent acquisitions and payorll?

The Giants the team with the 2nd highest payroll in baseball last year went under .500. Your brewers are towards the bottom in terms of valuation and spending, and were legit threats to win it all.

The Indians are constantly on the bottom in terms of valuation and spending always manage to be in the hunt.

The Nationals haven't won a single playoff series. The Dodgers haven't won a world serise

The Royals went to back to back world series and won 1.

Almost every team in the league has had their "moment" .

I see no correlation that spending = winning

i wish the Wilpon's considered the Mets a big market team
