i mean yes he’s been extremely bad against the yankees but luckily he has been a good pitcher otherwise

Yeah he gets lit up by the Yankees and he doesn’t have a great record as a postseason starter but the dude was nails for the Rays in 2008. He, along with Hanley, was one of very few bright spots against the Astros last year. I want him to do well just to shut Boston media/fans up.

postseason narratives are so stupid...

 

Normally I agree postseason narratives are stupid. But when it's 31 mil a year, take the pressure of Boston, and the Yankees and playoffs are in major play every year, it's kind of a consideration.

Holding so much weight for the little postseason work he's had compared to the career he's put up is just bad science.

Since 2008, Price's rookie season, the Yankees have won the most games in baseball. Yanks have posted the second best wOBA over that stretch. Tied for #1 in wRC+.

He's held them below that average over his career. If you're going to knock him for being bad/average against arguably the best franchise since his coming to the bigs, I don't know what you expect.
