I doubt he gets picked up. Unless he's attempts a position in the pen.

So, uh, the Indians gonna do anything aside from losing 2 of their best relief arms and their starting 1B???

The O's are huge idiots if they don't trade Machado for the best offer they have now. Already blew it with Britton.

It's not all that surprising. They might trade Kipnis, but don't expect some kind of shocker like Encarnacion last year. They have to conserve because they'll need quite a bit to extend out Lindor and possibly re-sign Miller. Either way, they still have a solid bullpen and will probably look to more minor league/major league options signings to possibly turn around.

Either way, Encarnacion was their only big move last year and they ended up with 101 wins. They maybe need make sure they have depth, but a healthy Salazar, Brantley, Kipnis and Chisenhall will do just fine and frees up our line-up a bit. Otherwise, maintain focus on building up internal talent like Zimmer, Mejia, Urshela and Diaz.

I'd love for them to trade Kipnis. Unfortunately, I don't see Miller around after this year (if Shaw got $9 mil per year, imagine what Miller will get...20?) and I see the Lindor situation getting messy soon. He's under team control for another few years, but reportedly turned down a $100 mil contract, which would have been far and away the largest contract ever given by an Indians team. So if he turned that down...then I don't know what else the Indians can do given our ownership (although to be fair, they've been spending in recent years, but they're not going to double/triple it for one player).

I just don't have any optimism in Salazar (a headcase), Brantley, Kip and Chisenhall who have all proved they cannot stay healthy. When healthy, Brantley is one of the better players in the AL, but he's missed most of the past two seasons and is already on target to miss beginning of 18, so I'm not holding out much hope.

You can't really blame Lindor for that reaction. He had only played in the majors for one full year and the offer was for 8-10 years. Ultimately, he didn't want to screw himself on the back 5-6 years. Guys like Machado and Harper have done it well in getting what they deserve. On the other hand, you see someone like Jose Ramirez sign an extension that takes him through when he's 31 at an average of $5.5 million/year right before he places 3rd in AL MVP voting. I don't think it'll be that big of a mess with Lindor. I think they'll get him locked down for a little longer in a year or two, especially with increased revenue from the fairweather fans here.

No need to really worry about those players. They have solid depth, but I think you'll see all of them bounce back a bit this year. Like I said, it's a good mix of veterans and, need be, having young talent to replace them.

Luckily the Indians play in a pretty soft division so they'll have time to sort through different options/young guys as the season moves along. But I mean, It would have been nice to gain some momentum after two great seasons but instead, it feels like we've taken a step back so far this offseason.

Yankees fans before 2017: the farm system is great and we're young

Yankees fans after 2017: Torres should be great but trade everybody else and sign old .200 hitting Todd Frazier

Not bad at all. That’s a pretty solid contract. Hopefully, he can keep up the production within the Tribe’s solid line-up.

Kyle Tucker (20) > Preston Tucker (27) (Both were in Astros system).

I saw Astros and Tucker when the news broke and had no idea there was an older Tucker, ha.
