Haha I've thought about that. They really need the bare minimum from their starters. They don't even need 5 innings in the playoffs lol. Any hint of a starter not having it at all, they can start the bullpen anytime basically. Especially with Warren healthy

Weather forecast for Cleveland Thursday and Friday is shaping up to be pretty bad. 80-90% chance of rain on Thursday night and 60% chance of rain on Friday. Ugh.

Last year, I remember Game 3 at Boston got postponed.

Any chance the game 1 start moves up in the day?

Looks like the rain should be gone by Friday night...could end up with a 2-3 hour rain delay potentially.

    ugh

I guess anything is possible. They moved up a game during the World Series last year to avoid a late storm. But easy to change times when there is only one game on TV. It's weird because the overall forecast for Thursday only calls for 20% rain, but when you actually click for details it's 80% by night time. Hopefully things change. Still pretty early.

Also, I read an article I think from the Chicago Tribune the other day that was talking about how playoff times get determined, and one of the factors was weather forecasts, and the times were determined last night, so I'm guessing they had to have seen the weather forecasts already.

    Nope. Supporter

Never really posted in this thread as my baseball fandom has dwindled over the years, but does anyone know how it works buying tickets to a hypothetical game? Vivid Seats is currently selling tickets as if necessary for the Rockies October 9th at Coors Field, what happens if they lose in the WC round and that game doesn't happen?

"Scouts have some delivery questions, and Singer only got to college because of an issue with his physical with the Blue Jays that scuttled his deal when he was a second-round pick in 2015 out of high school. But he dominated at the end of a 126-inning sophomore season and was the top pitcher in the Cape Cod League in 2016. He has the pedigree and stuff to go No. 1 overall."

Hopefully that's a good thing for us.

AL Cy Young - Corey Kluber, Chris Sale, Luis Severino
NL Cy Young - Max Scherzer, Clayton Kershaw, Stephen Strasburg

AL ROY - Aaron Judge (no need for a 2nd or 3rd lol)

At least AL MVP is a choice between two obvious guys. NL I have no idea who they will give it to. Can make a case for Stanton, Bryant, Blackmon, Arenado, Votto, Goldschmidt. Probably still missing someone haha. Probably come down to someone getting shafted like when Verlander got left off a couple ballots lol.

    AL MVP: Judge, Altuve, Ramirez
    NL MVP: Arenado, Stanton, Votto

    AL CY: Kluber, Sale, Severino
    NL CY: Scherzer, Strasburg, Kershaw

    AL ROY: Judge, Benintendi, Mancini
    NL ROY: Bellinger, Hoskins

I'd say Altuve is more deserving than Judge.

This is definitely a year where I don't feel any particular way about Judge vs Altuve.

The old Miggy vs Trout debates had me feeling pretty heated, but this year it's so close and both are well deserving.

I feel like he's been more consistent and dominant all year, whereas Judge was more streaky.

Even as a NYY fan, I wouldn't even think about Judge if he didn't have his best month in September. Idk how much of his slump was just rookie-ness or his shoulder being hurt, probably both, but keeping a .350 obp and his defense not falling off during his slump was still helpful. Was an ugly slump I admit.

As a Yankees fan so I don't pretend to not be biased a bit but leading in hr, runs, bb, runs created, times on base and second in slg, obp, ops, both 8.1+ bWAR and fWAR is plenty deserving to me. Also defensive metrics have Judge with 10 defensive runs saved to Altuve's 3. I saw on MLB Network some other MVP winners 6 week slumps including Trout hitting .230 for 6 weeks in '14.

Also Astros skate into the playoffs without Altuve, Yankees don't make it without Judge.

Again I'm biased so that's my pitch lol. I think they're equally deserving. When all these lists Judge is on is with guys like Ruth, Williams, etc as a rookie, that's crazy. Buuuut I think Altuve will get the vote. And wouldn't be mad if he wins.
