Think of all those Patriots standing outside of Red Sox games protesting... certainly doesn't happen at any other stadium.

 

I didn’t read the tweet as people still mad about it, but more like “weird thing to put on a Boston hat to sell to England given that history.” But I think all the raw raw patriotism hats and merch are weird with sports anyway so I’m on team stop it.

 

Yeah that’s fair. It’s def weird. Perfectly happy to just let the regular hats be. Not sure how they’re gonna stick the Union Jack on the Yankee logo lol

 

I am certainly not in favor of these types of hats, either, for sure. I am just guessing at why he finds it tone deaf, I suppose. The term tone deaf registers as pretty aggressive to me, so it just got me worked up over his statement and Chief Wahoo in comparison.

 

Chief Wahoo was fully removed from everything after last season. The only problem they faced was losing the trademark, so they are still using it on some vintage merch. Sadly, the only reason that is an issue is because there would undoubtedly be a giant Clevelander fight to get that trademark and mass produce things with it. It's ridiculous how meaningful that logo is to Tribe fans.

Honestly, I wouldn't even care if they changed the name of the team. Obviously, it's horrible for Native Americans, but actual Indians don't exactly love it either. I wish they would to put even more pressure on the Redskins to change that horrible name too.

Either way, I love and am completely fine with the block C.

 

I have noticed that they scaled back significantly, but I wasn't aware it was fully removed.

I like the block C, too.

Heard a stat today that blew my mind:

Curtis Granderson is leading off for the Marlins today. He's a cheap vet at this point. I wonder if Detroit thought about bringing him back to end his career, since Detroit's not competitive.

A Tigers fan in CF bought Curtis Granderson a bag of popcorn. They interviewed the guy who did it, and after the story, they show Granderson eating out of this giant bag of popcorn. It was awesome. It made me laugh.
