Kinda excited to watch German tonight

If you think about it their start doesn't have much to do with Sevy being out, German is 3-0 with a 1.38 so far

Wow I'd almost forgotten about Andres Galarraga. He played for the Braves for quite awhile, and I remember my grandfather (from Mississippi; wore dentures) had quite a lot of trouble pronouncing his name lol

 

We called him The Big Cat.

 

That nickname is one I remember but also still makes no sense to me

If I remember correctly he got the name bc of his glove work. He was quick on the diamond and one of the better fielding first basemen. Cat like reflexes.

I was curious to see how similar was Mookie's start to the season to any 19 game stretch that Trout has had. It seems like Trout essentially never slumps and the data rather bears that out. Mookie's first 19 games has yielded him a wRC+ of 79, which Trout hasn't had happen over a similar stretch since he was 19 in 2011, which I discounted from the rolling graph. Maybe I shouldn't've, but I did so oh well.

We all know Trout's consistent, but the level at which he is consistent is astonishing. I counted I think only three or four 19 game stretches of below league average play from Trout. In fact, Trout hasn't had a 19 game stretch of below average hitting since 2015. That's ridiculous.

Betts, as probably with most hitters (?), is all over the place and has had plenty of below average stretches.

Trout is out of this world.

 

These HRs are frustrating.
