Eh it is what it is. I love that big time players are becoming permanent fixtures on their teams for as long as possible. Moves will always be made in the offseasons and trade deadline

Hey I'm actually going to say good on the MLB to try and find a solution for this stuff. My complaint was always these players need to get rewarded earlier when there actually good. I dont want any team giving someone over 30 a 6+ year deal.

Locking these players early. Totally in favor

This Acuna signing is the hardest one to swallow right now...

 

Laughing about injuries is gross.

 

Young players getting extensions instead of arbitration money is good, definitely closer to getting them paid what they're actually worth during those years and thus avoiding the albatross 10 year contracts that start at age 30, but ideally we would get guys like that into real Free Agency sooner so their value could be driven up by bidding/competition. But, step in the right direction for sure

 

It's better, but I wouldn't label it as good. These are tough to digest and accept, because these players are still worth so much more. Hearing Xander leaving $50M+ on the table is mind-blowing to me. The owners are still holding a ton of leverage.
