Batting order doesn't really matter. The stats prove its minuscule at best, and only over the course of a season.

 

I know you only leadoff once a game, it still makes zero sense to change that with the same three at the top of the order with the results last year lol

 

Yea, idk why change it, tbh. But to the Sox credit, analytics say the #1 hitter should bat 2nd.

 

I mean that is right. I know it's right cause the most idiotic place on earth, FB still to this day is always like "why Judge 2nd?" lol

 

Highest OBP should lead off, highest OPS (or next-highest, depending) should bat 2nd, after that eh who cares

edit: well you probably want your best SLG%s clumped in 3-6 still tho

I just saw the new "just let the kids play" commercial. It was fun, but I liked how in the first one an old head said it. Wish they kept that going.

The extensions I think. Like Arenado, Sale, Goldschmidt, Bogaerts were significant names coming up. Killed this coming offseason's excitement for me

ooooohhhh gotcha. Yeah that def kills the offseason excitement. That's part of the reason Machado/Harper was such a big deal - its rare for a player like that to become a FA nowadays.
