The gap between VAN and VGK is absurd. They got outshot by like 30 and pulled out a win because Demko but they have no right to still be playing.

 

The kind of playoff run that ruins the team you root for, for the next 10yrs. Emotionally distancing so I don’t have to get mad at every stupid move benning makes until the team is sold and they hire peter chiarelli.

 

I thought Benning's contract was up after this year?

Laine is obviously a tremendous goal scorer but he is going to get a HUGE contract and does not really contribute much elsewhere

Canes have too good of value with the Pesce contract. He is worth too much because of that.

If it were Pesce I don't think we'd add anything else. Maybe a decent pick. His contract is too good. So I guess it depends if they want one really good player or a couple pretty good players. Skjei was awesome for us so I don't think that is a lowball offer at all.

While I am wary of overpaying him, he's the first good puck-moving d-man they've had since Ray friggin' Bourque. Him and Chara leaving is going to leave a massive crater on the left side, and they don't really have the prospects/cap space to replace them adequately.
