did kovalchuk not want to go to a contender because the Habs seem like the worst choice for that

 

They’re gonna wonder why 55-year old Ilya Kovalchuk isn’t a 40goal player and fail to utilize him effectively.

That being said I have no clue why Boston couldn’t give him that deal. Two month audition as a top six winger before the deadline, send him to Providence if it doesn’t pan out. Whatever
