fun fact:

the last time the Devils traded a player and got back a 1st round pick in return was Tom Kurvers. That was in 1991(!!!!)

The Devils picked Scott Niedermayer with that pick.

That’s true! but they need finishers and Kessel is having a down year. Does Hall move the needle? Sure, but to the extent they need to be a real threat? Idk

Trocheck and Spencer Knight seems like a lot for a guy who would probably walk next summer. I think they already have Dadonov and Hoffman as UFA. But that would be a score for NJ

 

I will say this- Hall is still a very good player but he doesn't look anywhere near as dominant as he did the past 2 years

I Think the injury might have slowed him down a bit. I'm not sure I would commit 7-8 years to him at big $$$

 

Officiating in Sabres-Islanders has been very bad so I decided to look up the officials on NHLOA and well....

How bad at your job do you have to be to have 850
NHL games as a ref and only 5 playoff games?
