Why would anyone pay Ben at this point?

 

Steelers don't really have a choice unless they want to be bad with Rudolph for a few years.

 

They could be bad with Rudolph and save money or be bad with Ben and spend a shit ton of money.

 

Ben is still better than half the starting quarterbacks in the league. The only bad thing with him is age, really. I don't know about 4 years, but 2 years makes sense.

 

His age is not the only thing bad about him.

He’s a piece of shit.

 

Steelers were 4-5 plays away from being 12-4 and I can only think of one of them being Ben's fault. He had a great year last year other than the interceptions. If they restructure the offense and don't make him shoulder the load, he can definitely play for three more years. But seems like a lot of money.

 

I just meant from an on-the-field point of view.

 

Four years seems long. He’s showing his age but I’d still rather have him than half of the qbs in the league.

I have no idea if they honestly look at Rudolph as the future or just a prospect at this point.

I'll take Ben over Stafford, Newton, Dak, Cousins, maybe Goff

a few other ones on that list are very close

and I hate Ben

 

If you only look at talent and not consider age, he's probably top ten.

 

Now if someone asked who I'd want to sign for 6 years, then yeah, I'd rather have Dak than Ben.

 

I'd make him play out this year on the contract and decide on an extension after the season.

Just looked and Dak has Ben beat at most QB stats over the last three seasons. Hmm..
